Our Story

1903 - 2024

It all began in 1903 with two ladies and one dream

When Woodhall spa’s famous Tea house first opened. Edwardian England was at its elegant height and the village was already popular with visitors. Dainty teas where the order of the day.  First operated by two ladies who were daughters of a London clergyman Dr Williams, Superintendent of the Spa baths. The Williams sisters originally leased the Tea House from the Petwood Estate for just £5 a year. The Misses Williams were charming hostesses, wearing long, lavender coloured gowns with little muslin aprons and picture hats.

Much more than just a Tea House ...

Our team at The Tea House In The Woods extend to you a warm welcome and hope you enjoy every aspect of your dining experience.

We think our founders the Williams sisters would be proud that the Tea House they founded in 1903 is still here 120 years later. Serving Lincolnshire with fine food.
